GAPS IP Project Evaluations

UTILIZING GAPS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) IN PROFIT-MAKING PROJECTS

Over the years, many people have been inspired to create GAPS courses, write GAPS books/cookbooks, develop GAPS-related apps, and create and sell all kinds of GAPS-related projects. We love seeing these projects come to life as they help many people around the world to become educated GAPStars! However, since GAPS IP is highly specialized information that must be shared accurately to avoid confusion and maintain the credibility of GAPS in the public eye, the GAPS Team needs to ensure that the use of GAPS Intellectual Property (IP) is properly authorized and protected.

With AI technology now in full swing, policing the internet for incorrect GAPS information and the misuse of GAPS IP in profit-making projects has become a daily task for the GAPS Team. If you discover unauthorized GAPS books (AI generated or authored by human beings), courses, or products claiming Dr. Natasha is the author, creator, or formulator, or claiming someone else is the creator of GAPS, please message the GAPS IP Specialist immediately at legal@gapstraining.com.

If you’re looking to become authorized to create and sell GAPS-related content, such as books, cookbooks, apps, courses, etc., it’s important to ensure compliance with the GAPS IP guidelines by following the steps outlined below. This process involves:

  1. Submitting a GAPS IP Project Evaluation Form: Please scroll down to access the evaluation form.
  2. Paying the Evaluation Fee: An invoice for $89.00 USD will be auto-generated and e-mailed upon submission of the evaluation form.
  3. Signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA): Upon payment of the evaluation fee, the GAPS IP Specialist will e-mail a NDA that will protect your project content during the evaluation process.
  4. Submitting Project Materials: Once the NDA is signed and dated by you and the GAPS IP Specialist, you will be directed to submit your project materials to the GAPS IP Specialist at legal@gapstraining.com. The chapters, modules, segments, sections, pages, or parts of your project containing GAPS IP must be identified and provided to the GAPS IP Specialist to expedite your evaluation process.
  5. Receiving Initial Feedback – The GAPS IP Specialist will evaluate your project materials to:
    1. Ensure the content is true to the GAPS Nutritional Protocol and aligns with Dr. Natasha’s concepts, principles, and philosophies.
    2. Determine if your project includes enough GAPS IP to warrant a more thorough review.
    3. Ensure that no claims are made that could potentially harm GAPS (e.g., claims that GAPS cures diseases and other unauthorized “GAPS Approved” claims).
    4. Ensure a special disclaimer is included in all project content containing GAPS IP, stating that personal beliefs and experiences do not reflect the views of GAPS or Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. An example disclaimer is: “The personal beliefs, opinions, philosophies, and/or views shared in this book/app/course are solely based upon my own GAPS experience and may not align with nor reflect the content in Dr. Natasha’s GAPS books, podcasts, blog posts, social media posts, or training courses”.

Project Classification & Next Steps:

  • If the project does NOT contain substantial GAPS IP:
    1. The evaluation process will end if the content is true to the GAPS Nutritional Protocol and aligns with Dr. Natasha’s principles, all unauthorized claims are removed, and disclaimers are included.
    2. Your project will then be considered to receive a digital “GAPS-Approved” seal/image for use on branding items such as book covers, course login pages, projects websites, etc. Your project will also be listed as a vetted resource on the GAPS Suggested Resources page at www.gapstraining.com.
  • If the project CONTAINS SUBSTANTIAL GAPS IP:
    1. The GAPS IP Specialist will direct you to complete a GAPS IP Project Review Application to provide additional content and project information for a more in-depth review.
    2. A Full Review Fee will apply:
      • Book/Cookbook Projects:
        • $349 for reviewing book/cookbook content (up to 75,000 words/10 hours maximum review time) regardless of the number of chapters or pages.
        • $499 for reviewing book/cookbook content (75,000 to 100,000 words/14 hours maximum review time) regardless of the number of chapters or pages.
        • Book projects with more than 100,000 words will require a special agreement and quote from the GAPS IP Specialist.
      • Course Projects:
        • $35/hr. for reviewing written course content (general assignments, essay questions, quizzes, etc.) up to 10,000 words regardless of the number modules, lessons, sections, etc.
        • Course projects with more than 10,000 written words will require a special agreement and quote from the GAPS IP Specialist.
        • $35/hr. for reviewing video content. (For example: 1.25 hours will be needed to review a 1 hour video.)
    3. After a thorough review is done, including feedback shared, content changes implemented, and necessary disclaimers added, the GAPS IP Specialist will email a royalty agreement.
    4. Once the royalty agreement is in place, the project can be distributed in the marketplace, with quarterly royalty payments required (10% of gross sales) through the GAPS Science Foundation, Inc. official donation page. This is a tax-deductible donation for content creators.
